Fire and thermal load modelling
Context and objectives
PAPREC asked for a fire structural response of a storage building. the objective is to determine the risk of collapsing of the roof and panels in case of a fire developped over the full storage.
Our success
The accurate behaviour of the hot smokes and the heat radiations from the burning surfaces has been modeled with the dedicated 3D-CFD software Fluidyn-VENTFIRE coupled with Fluidyn-FSI for the structural response. The temperature fields inside the building has been used to evaluate the structural response to the thermal load and the integrity during the fire.
