Odour dispersion at short range in a district
Context and objectives
The City of Montreal wants to install an air treatment system of the air extracted form an undergound wastewater network. The odour treatment system will be located at the Belfroy wastewater pumping station (SP) in Montreal.
The current source of exhaust air in the atmosphere triggers some complaints of olfactory nuisance by surrounding people which are less than 50 meters from the emission point.
Our success
By integrating, the buildings and obastacles all around the emission point, Fluidyn has carried out 3D-CFD simulations of the flow patterns and odor dispersion to determine the characteristics of the odour treatment system to comply with regulations and limit the risk of complaints from residents.
