fluidyn-FSI offers simultaneous utilization of Finite Volume and Finite Element
formulations for Non-Linear transient and steady state problems invloving Fluid Structure
Interaction. The inherent advantage of this code is that the best aspects of
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) are
coupled with structural analysis capability. The fluid domain is treated by finite volumes
and the structural domain by finite elements. Coupling between the two is by means of
pressure and momentum transfer. A key feature of the code is that the fluid mesh is
autoadaptive-i.e. it 'deforms' so as to conform to the deforming structures. Here we are putting some of the Results obtained from different
cases using fluidyn-FSI.
